蜂胶为蜜蜂所产的树脂物质，它是民间医学用于治疗牙周疾病的药物。然而，它的作用模式以及发挥功效的组成部分还未可知。这篇研究的目的是全面评估乙醇萃取的蜂胶(EEP)和EEP对牙龈卟啉单胞菌（牙周疾病的关键病原菌）抗菌活性的成分。

蜂胶为蜜蜂所产的树脂物质，它是民间医学用于治疗牙周疾病的药物。然而，它的作用模式以及发挥功效的组成部分还未可知。这篇研究的目的是全面评估乙醇萃取的蜂胶(EEP)和EEP对牙龈卟啉单胞菌（牙周疾病的关键病原菌）抗菌活性的成分。研究使用肉汤微量稀释和琼脂稀释法检测EEP对一系列口腔细菌种属的最小抑制浓度，结果发现，EEP对牙龈卟啉单胞菌的敏感度水平要明显高于对口腔正常菌群，如：链球菌属。它对牙龈卟啉单胞菌的抗菌活性甚至在广泛的热处理后依旧持续有效，表明它具有较高程度的热稳定性。EEP也可以在30分钟内通过增加膜的渗透性诱导牙龈卟啉单胞菌的死亡。基于高速原子力显微镜检查的时空性分析显示，EEP会直接触发异常膜泡的发生，随后膜泡在细菌表面融合。随后，研究发现从EEP中分离出的雅培西林C，巴曲林和熊果酸为其抗菌成分。其中，雅培西林C和巴曲林在膜泡发生时具有抗菌活性，而熊果酸在膜破水时显示有抗菌活性。特别是，熊果酸更能影响细菌的跨膜电位及膜渗透性，这可能是与其他组成相比，它具有更高的亲脂特性。总的来说，这些结果为我们对EEP的抗菌活性和它精妙的膜靶向抗菌组成的理解提供了力学依据，提示我们应用EEP
