呼吸机相关肺炎(VAP)是重症监护室(ICU)的主要院内感染之一,导致死亡率和发病率增加。研究表明,通过使用机械和药物制剂进行口腔净化可显著降低VAP的发生率,但ICU的口腔护理实践并不一致。

一项双盲随机对照试验在印度某三级护理中心的医疗ICU进行,评估基于牙刷的口腔护理技术在降低VAP发生率方面的效果。

 

结果显示,刷牙与同时抽吸技术并不优于擦嘴。发生VAP的最大风险因素是呼吸机天数(使用呼吸机的时间长度)。性别和抗生素的使用与VAP之间有统计学关联。
