结果显示,在这项研究的5305名参与者(59%的男性)中,5年的中位数随访中,有512人死亡(每1000人年有19.3人死亡)。循环的AFABP浓度(在基线水平较高的妇女中)可预测所有参与者的全因死亡率(P < 0.001)、血管死亡率(P = 0.037)和与感染相关的死亡(P < 0.002)。在性别特异性分析中,循环的AFABP浓度是男性和女性全因死亡率的独立预测因子,也是男性癌症相关死亡和感染相关死亡的预测因子。此外,加入血清AFABP浓度提高了预测2型糖尿病患者全因死亡的时间依赖性c统计值(P = 0.008)。
研究表明,高于已知的可降低男性和女性生存率的危险因子,循环AFABP浓度是2型糖尿病各种死亡结果的独立预测因子。AFABP作为预后生物标志物和治疗靶点的作用值得进一步研究。
