来自加拿大Chatham Kent Hospital Alliance (CKHA)，Chatham Ontario Canada医院的Sivasubramaniam Murugappan 教授(简称Siva教授)来到胡兵教授的内窥镜中心，向胡兵教授学习内镜操作技术。胡兵教授告诉记者：其实，此前他并不认识Siva教授。Siva教授告诉胡兵，自己是在美国的一次学术交流会上看到了胡兵教授的操作，惊讶于胡兵教授娴熟高超的内窥镜技术，不远万里从加拿大“追到”成都学习。胡兵教授也很感动：Siva教授本身已经是位资深教授，却为了让技术精益求精，不惜千里迢迢来到中国学习。据悉，Siva教授此行属于考察性质，但今天的学习让他收获不少，他决定依照胡兵教授的时间安排，今年晚些时候，正式申请来华西医院内镜中心进修两周。
