由于安全问题，安眠药的使用是阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停（OSA）的禁忌。最近的研究表明单夜催眠使用会使一些人的低氧血症进一步恶化，并且根据病理生理学的不同，其可以降低一些人的OSA严重程度。然而，缺乏更长的临床试验数据。近日，呼吸疾病领域权威杂志Eur Respir J上发表了一篇研究文章，该研究旨在明确佐匹克隆治疗1个月对低中度呼吸唤醒阈值而无明显的夜间低氧血症患者OSA严重程度、嗜睡和警觉性的影响。

69名参与者使用会厌导管完成了生理筛查，以量化唤醒阈值。30名符合条件的患者（呼吸暂停-低通气指数（AHI）为22±11次事件·h-1）完成了标准的实验室多导睡眠图（基线），并在接受夜间佐匹克隆（7.5mg）或安慰剂治疗1个月后返回进行两次额外的过夜睡眠研究（1晚和30晚）。

从基线到第30个夜晚AHI的变化在佐匹克隆组与安慰剂组之间没有差异（-5.9±10.2 vs. -2.4±5.5次事件·h-1; p=0.24）。同样，低氧血症、次日嗜睡和驾驶模拟器表现也没有差异。

由此可见，在没有严重的夜间低氧血症的情况下，1个月的佐匹克隆治疗不会恶化OSA的严重程度、嗜睡或警觉性。作为首次评估安眠药对OSA严重程度和嗜睡影响的研究，这些研究结果提供了重要的安全性数据和对OSA病理生理学的深入了解。
